MamaBFit – do it! I have no hesitation on giving a huge thumbs up for this program! I joined at 12 weeks pregnant and trained right up until 39 weeks. I was a fit before I got pregnant, I did boot-camps, tough mudder etc.. and really needed to find a place and where I could keep fit safely during my pregnancy. I went to the right place. No matter your fitness status you will feel welcome and challenged to the right level. Everyone is friendly and supportive, growing a baby is tiring, but believe me it makes you feel a whole heap better if you stay active. I made a great group of friends who supported me through my pregnancy and beyond. As soon as I was able I was back at postnatal classes and quickly progressed to active mums. My baby is 8 months now, I had to return to work when he was 6 months and I miss the classes so much already. But, thanks the team, I am almost back at my pre-pregnancy fitness levels and working to keep that up at home with all the advice on safe postnatal exercise in mind.

ALISON RAMSAY

General Manager/Midwife

Alison has over 30 years’ experience in the healthcare industry. Originally qualifying as a nurse, she worked in all areas of paediatric nursing before training as a midwife and spending over 10 years in clinical practice. She then moved into senior healthcare management and became general manager for a large women and children's service in the UK.

Alison moved to Dubai in 2007 to work as the Director of Nursing & Midwifery at Latifa Hospital (formerly Al Wasl), where she was responsible for reforming the provision of midwifery care.

In 2012 she became a partner in SMART Fitness, taking a lead role in the commissioning of its first facility in JLT. The gym has gone on to achieve many accolades and is regarded as an industry leader in the UAE. In 2017 Alison developed the MamaBFit service; combining both her passions for pregnancy care and women’s health and fitness.
